RELEASE AND WAIVER/COVID PROTOCOLS
Convention and Expo Safety Guidelines and Requirements ACHCA is committed to your safety during our 2025 Convention and Expo. Below is the American College of Health Care Administrators’ (ACHCA) current safety guidelines and requirements for the 2025 Convention and Expo. In light of the ever evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions, ACHCA reserves the right to amend and/or update these guidelines and requirements. The ACHCA is regularly analyzing the logistics and current COVID-19 mandates and will promptly communicate with attendees regarding any changes or protocols regarding Covid-19.
Covid Waiver: By registering for the 2025 ACHCA Convention & Expo, you agree to this waiver: Those choosing to attend the 2025 ACHCA Convention & Expo in-person on May 6-9, 2025, at the Embassy Myrtle Beach Resort (“Venue”) must agree to the following terms of this Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Claims (“Waiver”). I am attending the 2025 ACHCA Convention & Expo voluntarily, and at my own risk. I understand that by attending I risk being exposed to, or infected with, COVID-19 as a result of my actions or those of other attendees or participants, including the Venue’s employees and ACHCA’s officers, directors, staff, members, representatives, employees, or agents. I hereby release, for myself, my heirs, and personal representatives, and do forever discharge, indemnify and hold harmless ACHCA, its directors, staff, members, representatives, employees, or agents, from any and all claims, liabilities, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind whatsoever arising out of, or in connection with, or in any way relating to my attending or participating in the 2025 Convention & Expo, without limitation, any illness, damages, or injury resulting from my travel to and from, and attendance at, the 2025 Convention & Expo, participation in events related to the conference, exposure to an infectious disease (including COVID-19) or the manner in which the conference or its related events and activities are conducted (collectively, “Claims”). I understand and agree that this Waiver includes any Claims based on the actions, errors, omissions, negligence or gross negligence of ACHCA, its directors, staff, members, representatives, employees, or agents . I acknowledge that it is my obligation to follow all recommended health and safety measures while attending the 2025 ACHCA Convention & Expo, including Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, as well as statutes, regulations, and other mandates applicable to the conference (collectively, “Guidance”). I understand that the Guidance will continue to evolve over time. RELEASE AND WAIVER. ATTENDEE HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES AND FOREVER DISCHARGES ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, AND DEMANDS OF WHATEVER KIND OR NATURE AGAINST ACHCA AND ITS AFFILIATED PARTNERS AND SPONSORS, INCLUDING IN EACH CASE, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS (THE “RELEASED PARTIES”), EITHER IN LAW OR IN EQUITY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES OR LOSSES CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE, FAULT OR CONDUCT OF ANY KIND ON THE PART OF THE RELEASED PARTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEATH, BODILY INJURY, ILLNESS, ECONOMIC LOSS OR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, OR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, WHICH ATTENDEE'S HEIRS, ASSIGNEES, NEXT OF KIN AND/OR LEGALLY APPOINTED OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES, MAY HAVE OR WHICH MAY HEREINAFTER ACCRUE ON ATTENDEE'S BEHALF, WHICH ARISE OR MAY HEREAFTER ARISE FROM ATTENDEE'S PARTICIPATION WITH THE CONFERENCE. ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK. Attendee acknowledges and understand the following: 1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist; 2. Attendee knowingly and freely assumes all such risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, even if arising from the negligence or fault of the Released Parties; and 3. Attendee hereby knowingly assumes the risk of injury, harm and loss associated with the Conference, including any injury, harm and loss caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the Released Parties.
