This scholarship is provided through the George & Leah Hollander Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of George and Leah Hollander, the parents of Debra Hollander, LNHA, MBA. Debra believes that investments like this help ACHCA members advance their careers, strengthen their organizations, and ultimately enhance the quality of care delivered to the communities they serve.

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship fund is to sponsor four recipients to attend the Annual ACHCA Convention & Exposition.

George & Leah Hollander

Background: ACHCA believes that high-quality care in Long Term Care and Senior Living begins with administrators who are well prepared, educated, and engaged. ACHCA strongly encourages early-career administrators to apply for the George & Leah Hollander Memorial Scholarship.

Four individuals will be selected for scholarships. Recipients will receive up to $2,500 in reimbursement toward attending the Annual Convention — including registration, travel, and lodging, upon the submission of paid receipts.

Selection Criteria

1. The applicant must demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to continued professional development in health services and senior living executive leadership.
2. The committee will review applications and select four (4) recipients nationwide each year.
3. Applicants must be an AIT (Administrator in Training), New Administrator, or in an assistant management role within their first five (5) years in the field.
4. Applicants must be ACHCA members.
5. The scholarship is awarded as reimbursement of up to $2,500 in eligible expenses. Receipts must be submitted within 30 days following the Convention.
6. Eligible Expenses Include:
   • Registration fees
   • Hotel accommodations (up to four nights at the conference hotel)
   • Airfare, ground transportation, mileage, and gas
   • Meals during travel (if not provided at the conference):
     • Breakfast: up to $20
     • Lunch: up to $30
     • Dinner: up to $50
